Two free vegetable gardening workshops: “Basic Vegetable Gardening” and “Where Does Our Food Come From?” will be offered for free at the EastSide Neighborhood Resource Center at 153 Spruce St. in Manchester this February.

“Basic Vegetable Gardening” will be held on four Mondays, February 1-February 22, from 6:00-8:00 pm. This introductory class will cover the basics of organic vegetable gardening to prepare you for growing your own healthy food next spring. No prior gardening experience is necessary.

“Where Does Our Food Come From?” is a one-day informational seminar that will be held on Tuesday, February 2nd, from 6:30-8:30 pm. The seminar will feature a discussion about where exactly our grocery store food comes from, what “GMO,” “organic,” and “natural” really mean, and how and why the distribution of our food has changed over the past 60 years. In addition, participants will learn healthier and more cost-effective options for obtaining their food.
