Get Ready to Do Some Fall Cleaning

It's time to revisit your spring cleaning list and add on some seasonal tasks to get ready for the winter ahead.

Now that fall is officially here, it’s time to revisit your spring cleaning list and add on some seasonal tasks to get ready for the winter ahead.

Inside your home, wash all the windows, vacuum and wash dusty and dirty blinds, clean the walls, clean the ceiling-mounted light fixtures, and vacuum and spot-clean upholstered furniture and cushions.

You should also wipe down the kitchen cupboards, dust the refrigerator condenser coil, vacuum and clean the carpets, and clean the hardwood floors.

Dust your computer (and the rest of the house), straighten the closets, test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, replace the furnace filter, sweep the chimneys, and declutter and clean out the attic.

There are also some things that you’ll want to do outside.

You’ll want to check weather stripping and caulking around doors and windows, check and clean gutters and downspouts, clean and put away the patio furniture, drain and store garden hoses, check and touch up the exterior paint, and drain and close the pool.

If this list sounds exhausting, give Maid Brigade of Central Connecticut a call at 860-645-6243 and we’ll help you out.
