In recent years, Things have been tough. Not just for us but for a quiet majority.Jobs are still hard to find....If you want to work full time or in your chosen field of expertise. Job numbers are fudged so some leaders can prepare for another campaign while others want to maintain hero status as they head into the twilight of their political life.Books, Speeches and Libraries are the next last frontier. The real tragedy is the number of People who have given up looking for ANY job at all because when People do that, It is Hope they have given up on. How sad that is the 'change' they received. The hardness of life can change a persons Soul. Whether or not that change is for better or worse would seem as random as where rain drops decide to land....or even why it ever began to rain at all.So, Having said that, And the 'Jobs' thing...Oh, and the political swipe....the veiled family reference too!....I would like to wish all of you a heartfelt Happy Thanksgiving! I have known great joy; Meeting and marrying my Wife. My Children. Two boys and a Girl. And then there was the physical and emotional pain of a disabling Neck injury where I learned you can't always count on the people you thought you could count on. That sometimes you must forgive those people and move on with your life.
It was about a year ago that I joined the Knights of Columbus,1155. I jumped into the activities with great enthusiasm, working very closely with a Mr. Kringle at a 'Pizza w/ Santa' event. We went to Newtown Ct. to help out with the funeral of one of the 26. We collected items for our Military Heroes in a program we call, 'Everyday Soldier' and jumped in very cold water, raising money for the Children's Hospital in Hartford. We collected Coats for Children in our community and raised money for the MACC Food Pantry. In all these, We provided access to Hope. We fed Faith in all these ways. We changed some outcomes, Maybe in very small ways. Some children went to school warm. Brought a little happiness to a tuff day. There was more food on the shelves of the local pantry, which means some families have food in the kitchenIn all these things, I find a sense of accomplishment and a strengthening of my faith. Despite ever present worries in my life I believe in better days. In the Knights of Columbus I have found a Band of Brothers who would do anything for me as I would they. I feel safe and know I can count on them. They are Family.!!!!!Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless to My Family and My Family! May Your Day be filled with Much Joy!!!
