Help for Work-at-Home Parents is here at the Academy
Martial Arts classes + Homework Help = Extra time for Parents + Fun and Exercise for Kids
To say that the pandemic has upended the way many parents spend their work day is an understatement. With so many parents working from home and kids back at school and getting home around 3:00pm is distracting as parents try to finish off their workday responsibilities. The Academy’s Academic Study Hall program provides a much needed solution.
Once the kids get home from school, parents can take a brief break from the computer, get some fresh air, and clear their heads while they bring their children to the Academy at about 4:00pm. This provides parents with a couple of extra hours to finish their work day, get projects done around the house, run out to get some shopping or errands done, etc., or even just to have a couple of hours of down time in their day. It’s no longer necessary for parents to be ”on the go” all day.
At the Academy’s Academic Study Hall, students work on their homework with staff available to answer questions, offer assistance with tricky assignments, and keep them focused on the job at hand. By the time they get home, their homework is done! It’s been reviewed, handed back for any needed corrections, and reviewed again. This is all done in a safe, healthy, and distraction-free environment. In addition to homework, kids get much needed socialization time with other students. They will have the opportunity to socialize and play together in a supervised and safe environment. We know that kids have been missing out on much of this due to the pandemic.

As if that weren’t enough, the Academy’s Academic Study Hall program includes 2 martial art classes per week! This maximizes the growth and development of each Academic Study Hall student. These classes provide our students with the necessary skills and activities to thrive in life - exercise, defense against bullies and negative peer pressure, critical thinking skills, self defense training, enhanced abilities for other sports activities, and so much more.
