MANCHESTER, CT — A longtime business in Manchester is getting a new and improved look.
A PZC application has been submitted for a Special Exception Modification for building additions and parking modification to Highland Park Market, according to town papers.
The popular grocery store is located at at 307 Highland St.

Highland Park Market was founded in 1886, when William White opened a small general store. In 1958, Jack Devanney purchased the business and, in 1985, his son, Tim, took over as president.

Highland Park expanded into both Glastonbury and Farmington.
Today, five of Devanney's six children — Molly, Christine, John, Tim Jr. and Cathleen — are in the business and have taken over the day-to-day operations of the stores.
