Holiday on Main To Kick Off Downtown Manchester Holiday Season

MANCHESTER, CT — Downtown Manchester businesses are set to observe Small Business Saturday with several activities in an effort to kick off the holiday shopping season.

After Thanksgiving ... on Nov. 26.

Downtown businesses will be offering sales and special promotions as part of the Holiday on Main event. Most events will take place between noon and 4 p.m.

Shoppers and visitors can start their visits at the Winter Wonderland, located in the Green Lot on the corner of Main and Forest streets. A map and Holiday Shopping Game Board will be available for a chance to win prizes. Various local nonprofit groups will be offering games and crafts. Jingles, Santa’s Favorite Elf, will be running games, crafts and story time in Winter Wonderland all day long!

Shoppers can visit a North Pole Post Office to mail a letter to Santa and they just might get a letter in
return.

At 2 p.m., Chuckles, the state groundhog from the Lutz Children's Museum, will be making an appearance. And so will Santa himself. Shoppers will have a chance to meet and take photos with Santa, Chuckles, Jingles, and some characters from the CCB Nutcracker.

New activities will be added as the date draws nearer.
