“How did You Find me Online?”

When anyone contacts me, indicating they have found me online. I always want to know, where they found my name and contact information or how they found me.

This morning I got such a call, they were calling from Florida and wanted to refinance. This is not unusual as I do mortgages in Florida all the time, but normally as a result of a referral.

She told me she indicated she got on Google and put in Florida and refinance. She said I was right at the top of the page. I can assure you, that was not the case. I asked if there was anything else she added to her search, she said she eventually put in credit issue, which was where I showed up. She told me that I showed up a number of times including a number of blogs that I had written.

I eventually got off the phone indicating I would send her an email with a list of information that I would need, but was still curious on how she originally got to me.   I started putting in what was repeated to me, but no luck I didn’t show up. I did eventually show up when I put in other key words, but not what she had shared with me. I wish I could understand how some folks get to me, when saying that they found me online. I suppose I should not care, but my curiosity always gets the best of me.
