I have worked with these clients for many years. They have been loyal beyond belief. They wanted to put on an addition and wanted to refinance their current mortgage which I got them a few years ago; the rate at that time was 3%.
Refinancing to get cash out for the addition would have meant an interest rate above 4%, plus the closing costs and it made no sense. I recommended that they set up a home equity line which was in their best interest.
I set up an appointment for them with a bank in their area that I work with on a regular basis. The banker was kind enough to meet with them the same day and let them know that doing the HELOC for them was no issue and there would be no closing costs.
They made my day!
