Idol Winner, Schools, Goodwill Teaming Up to Bolster Donations

Manchester is a designated drop-off location.

Goodwill is teaming up with several area elementary schools and an American Idol winner in an effort to bolster donations.

The program has been dubbed “Bag It Up For Goodwill Donation Challenge” and is ongoing through the end of April, Goodwill officials said.

Several schools in Hartford and Tolland counties are participating. Students are collecting donations and the elementary school with most items donated during April — Earth Month — will enjoy a live performance by Connecticut native and American Idol winner Nick Fradiani.

The winning school will be notified by May 10 and the school performance will take place before the end of the school year.
