Investigation Ongoing In Crash That Killed Manchester Resident

MANCHESTER, CT — State police are looking for witnesses to a crash in East Hartford that claimed the life of a Manchester resident.

The crash took place at 7:59 a.m. Wednesday just east of Exit 55 on the eastbound side of the highway, state police said.

According t0 a crash report, a tractor-trailer drive by a 54-year-old Maine man was in the left-center lane of four. The truck was hit from behind by a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by 28-year-old Blake Burrows of Manchester, according to the report.

The airbag deployed on the Mercury, but Burrows did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.

The investigation as the what happened is still active and state police said anyone who may have witnessed the crash is being asked to contact Trooper John Wilson at the Troop H barracks, 860-534-1098.
