MANCHESTER, CT — The barber chairs at a building on Birch Street in Manchester could soon be converted into living room chairs.

Local planning officials last week said that a Zoning Board of Appeals application has been submitted for a variance at the property located at 69 Birch St., also known as 73 Birch St.

The variance would allow a building previously operated as a barbershop to be converted for residential use.
