MANCHESTER, CT — An Italian-themed restaurant in Manchester known for its tasty sandwiches and pizza over the past decade is closing its doors.

The last day for the famed grinders and pizza at Lena's Italian Kitchen is Saturday, according to a social media announcement.

Lena's is located at 206 W. Center St.

"It is with great sadness that we announce that due to medical reasons, this Saturday, January 20, 2024, will be our last day open at Lena’s Italian Kitchen," the announcement said. "Our family has thoroughly enjoyed serving our customers and making many new friends in the community over the last 10 years. We wish everyone a safe and happy new year."

Residents were saddened by the news, and Lena's Facebook page was being flooded with reflections.
