It's Now 14 Years For The Annual Manchester Lions Rubber Duck Race

Tickets are on sale for the 14th annual Manchester Lions Club Duck Race.

MANCHESTER, CT — This year marks the 14th that the Manchester Lion Club will be staging its annual rubber duck race fundraiser.

This year, the event is scheduled for 2 p.m. on June 10th at Charter Oak Park, 50 Charter Oak St.

At the stroke of 2, hundreds of rubber ducks will be released to race down Birch Mountain Brook through the park.

The family friendly event will take place rain or shine.

Tickets are on sale now at $5 apiece for one or more ducks, and ducks also can be purchased on site on race day. Cash prizes will be awarded for the first five ducks to cross the finish line: $1,000 for the first-place winning duck; $500 for second place; $250 for third place; $150 for fourth place; and $100 for fifth place. Duck ticket holders do not need to be present at the event to win.

Proceeds from duck sales will benefit the Manchester Lions Club Charitable Account that supports a variety of community organizations including the Manchester Area Conference of Churches, the Manchester Public Library, the Little Theatre of Manchester, the Manchester Little League - Girls and Boys, and the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation.

Tickets can be purchased now at the following locations:

  • DuBaldo Security Systems at 164 East Center St. in Manchester;
  • Highland Park Market at 317 Highland St. in Manchester;
  • Lutz Children’s Museum at 247 South Main St. in Manchester; and
  • The Manchester Lions Club’s booth at Art in the Park (in the town’s Center Park) on June 4.
