Kitchen Fire Causes Scare At Manchester Apartment

MANCHESTER, CT — A kitchen fire provided a bit of a scare at a Manchester apartment Wednesday.

The fire broke out at 104-106 Main St. in the late morning hours, fire officials said.

The lone resident of the apartment managed to get most of it out by the time firefighters arrived, but the kitchen sustained "moderate damage" and the apartment is presently uninhabitable, fire officials said.

The American Red Cross was at the scene assisting the resident.

The other two apartments in the building remain occupied, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported.
