Little Bob Shows Students Just How Those Furniture Ads Come To Life
Bob's Discount Furniture staffers hosted students Wednesday for unique look at its unique in-house production studio.

MANCHESTER, CT — A group of north central Connecticut students Wednesday was able to see just how all those adventures of Little Bob on all those advertisements come to life at the Manchester headquarters of his furniture empire.
Bob's Discount Furniture staffers hosted a "career exploration day" for students in conjunction with the Urban League of Greater Hartford. The day featured an interactive visit with Little Bob, Bob's staffers and the man affectionately known as "Bob's Dad," creative adviser Michael Bannon.

Manchester-based Bob's Discount Furniture is the 10th largest U.S. furniture chain with 164 stores across 24 states and more than $2 billion in annual sales. It is perhaps known for the vibrant and sometimes goofy ads originally starring company founder Bob Kaufman and now Little Bob.

Several high school juniors from Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy essentially said Little Bob is omnipresent on television through the ads.

But how does the familiar character get to the screen?

The students were able to see how the ads are produced with "the magic" of Bob’s in-house studio and production facility. Bob's production studio – referred to as LB&CO – is unique for its all-in-one workflow, including rare stop-motion animation, photography and green screen effects. In the studio, creators can conceive and execute for all channels ranging from TikTok to full-blown production.
Bob's also donated $10,000 to the Urban League of Greater Hartford's Equal Opportunity Day Celebration.
