Manchester Expert to Teach Free Vegetable Gardening Workshop This Spring
The five-week program will be held at the East Side Neighborhood Resource Center on Wednesday evenings, 6 to 8 p.m., 3/18-4/15.
Local organic gardening expert Bettylou Sandy will teach a free workshop, “Vegetable Gardening 201”, at the East Side Neighborhood Resource Center in Manchester (153 Spruce St.).
The program will be held on Wednesday evenings, 6-8 p.m, March 18th-April 15th. Class participants will learn detailed information about vegetable gardening, while participating hands-on in the Spruce Street Community garden located on site.
The workshop is intended for individuals who already posses at least basic knowledge of gardening. Topics covered will include soil testing, weed and pest control, watering methods, companion planting, and harvesting and storing through the season.

In addition, Vegetable Gardening 201 participants will receive priority consideration should they wish to register for their own year-round plot in the Spruce Street Community Garden.
