Longtime Manchester Business Moving Out as Building Sold

The building may not be vacant for long.

MANCHESTER, CT — A cleaning supply company that has been in town for the better part of six decades is moving to East Hartford and a printing business now based in South Windsor could soon be moving into the space, town records show.

Hillyard-RoVic has been in business since 1956. It is located at 146 Sheldon Road in a 28,300-square-foot building, according to town records.

REP Associates, LLC sold the property for $995,000 to a holding company named 146 Sheldon Road, LLC, town records show.

The buyer is the owner of Blue Wave Printing & Display, of 359 Governors Highway in South Windsor.

Since 1956, Hillyard-RoVic has grown from a small company producing and selling its own cleaning products into an industry-leading provider of high-quality cleaning/sanitary supplies, equipment, and services to businesses throughout New England .

RoVic has been a business staple in the community for decades. It was very visible in the 1970s into the 1980s, when it sponsored duckpin bowling league teams at Holiday Lanes.
