A Look at Bob's Discount Furniture — By the Numbers

MANCHESTER, CT — Bob's Discount Furniture on Monday officially opened a new U.S. headquarters behind the current showroom and TV facilities at 428 Tolland Turnpike.

Here is a look at the move of the furniture empire by the numbers:

• HQ Building size: 103,000 square feet, 3 stories
• Projected employees at HQ: 200
• Expansion plan: 20 years, including an immediate expansion to the west coast
• Stores: 89
• Ranking: 12th-largest furniture chain in the U.S.
• Locations: New England, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
• 2016 revenue: $1.15 billion
• Loans/grants for expansion: $7 million low-interest state loan, a $1.7 million grant to train employees, and up to $11 million in tax credits. Under the seven-year local tax break, Bob's will pay no real estate taxes on the new building for three years, starting this month. In the fourth year, the company is to pay 10 percent of the taxes, and the bill will rise to 30 percent by the seventh year. After that, Bob's would pay 100 percent of its real estate taxes.
• Charitable giving: $2.5 million annually
