Anytime
I have an opportunity to refer clients to a local institution to set up
secured credit cards, the better the results are for the clients to
build their credit scores and follow through on their commitments to
make all payments on time.
So
often folks that have poor credit have lots of negative accounts on
their reports, so the sooner new credit is established and these
accounts are paid off each month the quicker scores will begin to rise. I
make sure these new accounts are paid in full each month.
It
also means that negative accounts need to be settled in order to stop
the bad reporting. I always advise the client to settle the smallest
accounts first; otherwise it may be too difficult a task to get to the
finish line.
