lynda.com Now Available to Manchester Library Cardholders

Free online learning resource

lynda.com, a premier online learning resource, is now available to Manchester Public Library patrons. lynda.com is an online site that hosts a constantly growing library of over 4,000 courses that can help users pursue personal and professional goals.

lynda.com provides in-depth software training, techniques for creative professionals and the development of critical business skills. Expert instructors deliver the video courses in small, easy-to-manage chunks, enabling users to stop and return to lessons at their convenience.

Course offerings include the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, web design, photography, video, art, graphic design, music, career aids that include everything from public speaking to marketing to dealing with workplace issues... just to name a few.

First-time users will create a personal profile and this account will help manage the course history, playlists, bookmarks and Certificates of Completion. Certificates can be automatically uploaded to a LinkedIn profile.

Access to lynda.com is through the "Online Databases" link from the library's homepage (http://library.townofmanchester.org) and can be used in the library or remotely from home or with a mobile device's browser.
