Man Accused Of Assaulting Woman, Dog In Manchester

MANCHESTER, CT — A Manchester man is facing cruelty to animals and assault charges after an incident on Elm Street with a woman and her dog, according to a police report.

Christhian Gustavo Herrera, 43, was arrested Wednesday, according to a report.

The woman, with whom Herrera had a relationship, was trying to prevent him from hurting the dog, according to a report.

The domestic incident began with stress over a child needing to be picked up and a dog barking, according to a report. Herrera went after the dog and the woman stepped in, according to a report.

Since the child was there, Herrera was also charged with risk of injury to a minor, records show.
