Man Gets 115 Years for Manchester Murder, Rape and Arson

He was found guilty in June and sentenced Tuesday.

MANCHESTER, CT — A judge in Hartford has sentenced Steven Durdek to 115 years in prison for a murder, rape and arson in Manchester, WFSB reported.

He also reportedly bragged about the incident on social media, the station reported.

Durdek is a 23-year-old Connecticut man who was convicted of raping and fatally beating a Manchester woman — 56-year-old Sarah Kelloway. See the Fox61 details of the June conviction here.

The sentence was rendered on Tuesday.

Durdek faced a maximum sentence of 130 years in prison after being convicted of murder, felony murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree sexual assault, first-degree arson and tampering with evidence.

Police told Fox61 Durdek did not know Kelloway before the attack.
