Thrown Hammer Hits Customer With Prosthetic Leg At Manchester Walmart: Police
Police said a scuffle between customers at the Manchester Walmart involved a tossed hammer.

MANCHESTER, CT ā A customer at the Manchester Walmart with a prosthetic leg was hit with a thrown hammer during a scuffle between customers Monday morning, police said.
The call came in at 9:54 a.m. about two men who were involved in a fight, police said.
Rumors that the incident was a hammer attack flooded social media, but police said the scuffle appeared to be minor and only involving two customers near customer service. The problem was, however, the customer with the prosthetic leg was hit on that leg with the tossed hammer during the fracas, police said.

Both sustained "bumps and bruises," as a result, and the man with the prosthetic leg was taken to an area hospital with a hand injury, police said.
The man who threw the hammer was taken into custody, police said.
