Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Being Hit By Car

Police say a 23-year-old man was struck by a car in Manchester early Saturday.

MANCHESTER, CT — A 23-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car at 269 West Middle Turnpike early Saturday, according to police.

At 2:20 a.m., officers responded to the scene and they found a young man not responsive, police said. Emergency medical personnel performed life-saving measures and the man was taken to a local hospital, police said.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene and is fully cooperating with police. Witnesses told police that the pedestrian attempted to cross West Middle Turnpike near the Pepe's driveway, and as he crossed the road he was struck by the vehicle, police said. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and is in the hospital, police said.
