Manchester Arbor Day Celebration, Saturday, April 19
2:30-4:30 pm, at Mary Cheney Library
The Manchester Conservation Commission, with support from the Manchester Community Project & Event Fund, is sponsoring an Arbor Day celebration. Activities for the whole family begin at 2:30 pm in the Howroyd Room at Mary Cheney Library.
The program will start with a short walk in Center Memorial Park. Town historian Susan Barlow will talk about the park’s history, and Scott D'Agostino of the Connecticut College Arboretum will provide information about trees in the park. The walk will include children’s activities. After the walk, there will be additional family activities in the Howroyd Room including potting a small evergreen tree to be planted at home (while supplies last). Light refreshments will be provided. Program is on, rain or shine - indoor activities if the weather requires. This is a free program; no registration required.
