Manchester-Based Food Truck Touting Free 'Chill Out' Treats on Tax Day
The Kona Ice truck is offering free Tax Day treats at two locations in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — A popular food truck that specializes in tropical treats is bringing back a Tax Day tradition for 2022.
The theme of the day, according to Kona Ice, is, "No Taxation without Relaxation" as part of Kona's "National Chill Out Day," during which free cup of flavored shaved ice are handed out.
The island-themed truck will be on-hand at two Manchester locations Monday to celebrate the deadline for filing federal income taxes — Highland Park Market at 317 Highland St. from 4 to 6 p.m. and the plaza at 59 Tolland Turnpike from 2 to 6 p.m.

The 2022 campaign marks the seventh-such event for Kona.
"With Tax Day right around the corner, many of us are reaching into our pockets to pay-off Uncle Sam," the local Kona owners said this week. "To relieve taxpayers of the stress associated with meeting the federal deadline, Kona Ice will be handing out free cups of tropical shaved ice to all who stop by. The refreshing treat will ensure that there is no taxation without relaxation this tax season."

Kona is a chain of trucks that serve up flavored shaved ice at events.
