Manchester Community College to Celebrate 49th Commencement

The college's commencement ceremony will be Thursday, May 30, at 5:30 p.m.

Manchester Community College will be holding its 49th annual commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 30.  

The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Bicentennial Band Shell on the college campus.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held inside the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium in the AST building at 5:30 p.m. The decision to move will be made by 11 a.m. on Thursday.

Dr. Henry C. Lee, one of the world’s foremost forensic scientsts, will deliver the commencement address.  

William H. W. Crawford, IV, president and CEO of the Glastonbury-based Rockville Financial Inc., will receive the honorary degree of associate in humane letters.  

The Regional Advisory Council’s Community Service Award will be presented to Sharlene A. Roby of Manchester for her service to the college.  

Patrick J. Montes of Newington is the recipient of the President’s Student Award. This award recognizes a student who has demonstrated unusual perseverance in spite of difficulties, obstacles or challenges.
