MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police are investigating a Wednesday night stabbing incident at a local hotel. The suspect is a red-haired woman that could be driving a 20-year-old car, police said.

The stabbing took place at 9:40 p.m. at the Manchester Inn and Suites, 20 Taylor St., police said.

A 38-year-old male was located at the hotel multiple stab wounds and was taken to Hartford hospital and was listed in serious condition, police said.

A suspect in the case has been identified as 32-year-old Lindsay Penev, of Manchester. Police said Penev fled the scene prior to police arriving at the scene in an unknown vehicle. A weapon has been recovered, police said.

Penev is being described as white, standing 5-foot-6, and weighing about 140 pounds. She has red hair and it could be in a ponytail, police said. According to police, she was last seen wearing a white sweater and jeans and she could be driving a green, 2000 Chevrolet Lumina with Connecticut registration plates (AY06053).
