Manchester Cops Looking For Drivers Of 2 Stolen Vehicles

Two vehicles were stolen and went speeding around Manchester earlier this month, police said.

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police are looking for the drivers of two stolen vehicles who had high-speed joyrides in town.

Manchester police released details of the July 1 incident Monday.

At about 5 p.m. that evening, officers responded to Hillcrest Road for a reported armed motor vehicle theft.

According to a police report, the suspects fled the scene in a silver sport utility vehicle with Massachusetts plates and were driving erratically at a high rate of speed heading north on South Main Street.

The silver SUV was being followed by a white Acura TL, the vehicle stolen from the Hillcrest Road residence, police said.

Both vehicles fled onto the westbound side of Interstate 384 and police did not attempt a sustained pursuit, according to a report.

The silver SUV, later determined to be a 2016 Lexus RX, was identified as being stolen as well. The Lexus, and the Acura may have been involved in other incidents over the weekend, including a trio of other attempted car thefts in Manchester, police said.

Police said Monday that the vehicle had been recovered and detectives are working toward identifying the suspects.

There were no injuries reported.

Police Monday released a photo of one suspect and are asking that anyone with information regarding the person or the incidents contact them at 860-645-5500.
