Manchester Fire Department Places New Engine 3 In Service

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester Fire Department's newest piece of apparatus was placed in service at Station 3 last week, adding a new engine to the department's fleet.

Engine 3 is a 2026 Sutphen Monarch pumper equipped with a 1,500-gallon-per-minute pump and a 1,000-gallon water tank.

The engine will serve the eastern side of Manchester with a crew of three firefighters.

Engine 3 is configured as an advanced life support suppression company and also is equipped to provide rapid intervention team and cold-water rescue capabilities.

The department said the new apparatus expands its ability to respond to fires, medical emergencies and specialized rescue incidents in the area covered by Station 3.
