Manchester Fire Rescue EMS Calls Topped 9,500 In 2022

MANCHESTER, CT — Crews from Manchester Fire Rescue EMS responded to more than 9,500 calls in 2022, according to statistics released this week.

The responses totaled 9,504 and, with a typical "shift strength" of 16 firefighters, that translated to 24,010 "unit responses," fire officials said.

Here is a sampling of the types of responses:

• Fire incidents: 171
• Structure fires: 38
• EMS/rescue calls: 7,215
• "Good intent" calls: 845
• False alarms: 517
• Service calls: 391
• Hazardous condition: 297
