MANCHESTER — Manchester High School could find itself in the Guinness Book of World Records.
About 1,440 students and staff gathered on the playing field in the broiling sun Thursday to set the record for "largest dessert party," school officials told the Hartford Courant.
The preliminary count appeared to be more than enough to smash the record set on May 2 in Hong Kong. In that party, 1,166 people were given a choice of four cupcakes, according to www.guinnessworldrecords.com.
