Manchester High School Interim Principal Named

MANCHESTER, CT — Katelyn Miner, is being elevated from her current role as an assistant principal at Manchester High School to interim principal, Superintendent of Schools Matt Geary said in a letter to the school community distributed Tuesday.

Miner begins her new duties Wednesday and will serve for the coming academic year, Gary said.

Miner is replacing Jill Krieger, who is moving to the Region 19 school district, which serves students from Mansfield, Ashford and Willington through E.O. Smith High School.

Krieger had been the MHS principal since June 2014.

Miner started teaching in Manchester in 1998 in the math department. She was also an instructional coach before becoming an administrator.

"Her recent experience as assistant principal of Manchester High School and her long tenure in the district make her the perfect person to step into this role," Geary wrote.
