Manchester Man Arrested After 'Violent' Assault on Mass. State Trooper
The 24-year-old man crashed into a vehicle, attempted to carjack other vehicles, and kicked out a police cruiser window, authorities said.

A Manchester man was arrested Thursday morning in Milford, Mass. after a “violent” assault on a state trooper.
Mass. State Police said the 24-year-old man from Manchester crashed into another vehicle on Route 495 then fled into the woods, came back to the crash scene, and tried to carjack vehicles.
Trooper Christopher Keyes caught the man after a “violent” struggle, police said. Keyes put the man in his cruiser, at which point the man kicked out a window, police said. The man then kicked Keyes, police said.

The man’s name was not immediately released. The driver of the vehicle he allegedly hit was not hurt, police said.

- Operating Under the Influence of Drugs
- Assault and Battery on a Police Officer
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon —Shod Foot
- Carjacking
- Malicious Destruction of Property Over $250
- Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident
- Disorderly Conduct
- Following Too Close
The man also had a warrant out for his arrest, police said.
