Manchester Man Charged With Felony Drunken Driving in NY

The arrest began with a speeding violation, police said.

Rotterdam, NY – A Manchester man was charged with felony drunken driving after a speeding incident in New York State, police said.

At about 10: 45 p.m. on Friday, New York State Police stopped a vehicle on Interstate-90, in the town of Rotterdam, for a speeding violation, according to a news release.

The driver of the vehicle, Michael B. Allison, 33, of Manchester, was found to be intoxicated while traveling with two children younger than 16 in the vehicle, police said.

He was taken into custody, transported, and processed at the state police Albany barracks, where he submitted to a breath test. The test returned a blood alcohol content reading of .08 percent, at the legal limit in New York State, police said.

  • Aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child; a Class E felony
  • two counts of endangering the welfare of a child; a Class A misdemeanor
  • Vehicle and traffic violations

Allison was arraigned in the Town of Scotia Court and was to appear again Monday, police said.

The children were turned over to a responsible party, police said.
