Police announced the man's arrest on pornography charges Sunday night.

MANCHESTER, CT — A Manchester man has been charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, local authorities said.
Manchester police on Sunday night announced the arrest of Ian Gardner, 28, of Hunniford Street, Manchester. Gardner surrendered to police on Aug. 2 on an active arrest warrant, police said.
The arrest stems from an investigation that began in January by members of the Connecticut Center for Digital Investigations, police said. Manchester police offered no other information in a news release sent out Sunday night.

Gardner was processed, then then held on a $250,000 cash/surety bond and was later presented in court, police said. Judicial system records indicate that bond was knocked down to $175,000, but he remains in custody while awaiting his second court appearance on Sept. 2.
