Manchester Man Sentenced to Prison for Stabbing

The man stabbed another town resident 13 times during an Oct. 2014 fight.

A Manchester man who pleaded guilty in June to stabbing another town resident 13 times in Oct. 2014 has been sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison, the Journal Inquirer reported.

Edward Walker, 27, was also sentenced to five years’ probation and 500 hours of community service by Hartford Superior Court Judge Joan Alexander.

Walker stabbed Nicholas Delguidice, 37, during a fight on Oct. 26 of last year, causing injuries that have rendered Delguidice unable to work, the paper said.

Walker’s attorney, claiming his client was acting in self-defense, had asked for a four-year sentence, which was rejected.
