Manchester Resident Tries To Steal Car: New London PD

Prior to police contact, the suspects were involved in an accident which they attempted to evade, police said.

NEW LONDON, CT — Two people including a Manchester resident have been arrested and are accused of trying to steal a car in New London, police said.

At 7:55 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the area of Montauk Avenue and Pacific Street for the report of people attempting to steal a vehicle from the driveway of a residence, police said.

The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival. Additional information gathered by police resulted in officers locating the involved suspects in the New London downtown area, police said.

Prior to police contact, the suspects were involved in an accident which they attempted to evade, police said. No injuries reported. The suspects were identified and subsequently charged as follows:

Rhoquan Franklin, 21, of Lilac Street in Manchester
