Manchester Police Investigating Attempted Carjacking, Car Thefts
A string of car thefts and a carjacking attempt were reported in Manchester Sunday.

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police are investigating a spree of vehicle thefts and attempted carjacking that took place Sunday evening.
According to a police report, at 6 p.m. Sunday, authorities tracked a car stolen from the Westfarms Mall on the Farmington-West Hartford line to the Buckland Hills mall in Manchester. Shortly after, police received a report about a car taken from Maggie McFly's at the Buckland mall and broken glass was located in that area of the parking lot, according to an incident report.
Then, as police tracked the original stolen car to 412 Middle Turnpike West, a carjacking attempted was reported at that address, according to an incident report.

Police said the carjacking victim described the number of assailants as "five to six" and all wore face coverings and two of them were brandishing "semi-automatic" handguns, according to an incident report.
A second vehicle was also reported stolen from the Buckland mall, according to an incident reports.

Police said all three stolen cars — a 2018 Kia Optima, a 2018 Hyundail Sonata and a 2017 Hyundai Elantra — were eventually recovered in Hartford. All incidents three thefts seem to be related and Manchester investigators said anyone with information on them can call 860-645-5545.
