Police are investigating a weekend shooting incident in Downtown Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — Police are investigating a weekend shooting incident in Downtown Manchester.
At 3:46 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the Purnell Place parking lot and located a 30-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds to the leg and buttocks, according to a report.
The man was transported to St. Francis Hospital and medical center, police said.

According to a report, witnesses told police that an altercation between the victim and others broke out prior to the shooting.
A "juvenile male" matching the description given by witnesses as one of those involved was located on Main St. and detained by officers, a report indicates. Witnesses said others were involved in the incident, according to a warrant. He was later released, police said. .

According to a report, they may have fled in a vehicle.
The weapon used in the altercation has not been located, police said.
