The boy was transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. According to the Hartford Courant, a neighbor heroically came to the boy's aid. The neighbor came home and saw that the dog had the boy in its jaws and was dragging him around, the Courant reports.
The neighbor called 911, then grabbed a piece of wood and struck the dog, knocking the child out of the pit bull's mouth. The neighbor's actions stopped the dog's attack, the Courant reports.
