Manchester Road Race 2016 Results: True, Sisson Take Top Honors, Locals Fare Well in Age Groups

MANCHESTER, CT — Ben True of New Hampshire defeated Leonard Korir of the U.S. Army and Colorado in a photo finish after a 150-yard sprint to win the 80th edition of the Manchester Road Race on Thanksgiving morning.
True, the 2014 champion, just missed out on the Rio Olympics with a fifth-place finish in the Olympic trials at 5,000 meters, but was not to be denied Thursday with a time of 21:31. Korir was 14th in the Olympic 10,000-meter competition in Rio.
Emily Sisson of Providence won the woman's division with a time of 24:08, jut nine seconds off the women's course record.

About 15,000 runners and walkers took part in the 4.748-mile race through the central part of Manchester.
