MANCHESTER, CT — In addition to the highly-competitive action among world-class runners at Thursday's Manchester Road Race, there is annually another "race within the race" that is not generally known to the public, or for that matter, to the 11,000-plus registered entrants. Each year, Patch editors in Hartford and Tolland counties recognize the first finishers from each town covered by their media outlet in the region.

Glastonbury High School alumnus Donn Cabral, a 2-time Olympian, was the first finisher from Connecticut in the overall race, placing seventh.

Here are the competitors who earned "town bragging rights" from each community served by Patch in the area, including their age, overall place and net time.
