Manchester Runner Sets 5K Age Group World Record

A Manchester runner broke his own world record in Boston.

MANCHESTER, CT — Aidan Puffer, a 13-year-old eighth-grader from Manchester, broke his own 5K world record in Boston on Saturday at the annual Boston Athletic Association race for that distance.

His time was 15:47, which bested his previous age record of 16:11, set last fall in Providence.

The BAA 5K takes place annually two days before the Boston Marathon.
