Manchester School Board Disappointed With Test Performance
Town students ranked near the bottom of the state in SBAC testing.

A subpar performance on the recent Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) tests led some members of the Manchester Board of Education to express their feelings of disappointment at Monday night’s meeting, the Journal Inquirer reported.
Among Connecticut’s 30 Alliance districts, the lowest-performing school systems in the state, Manchester ranked 19th in reading and 14th in math on the SBAC tests, assistant superintendent Ann Radikas said in a presentation to the board.

Superintendent of Schools Matt Geary penned a letter to the Manchester community, explaining the test results and emphasizing new strategies that are being utilized to improve those results.
