Manchester Stakeout Leads To Drug Charges

Two men with histories of drug activity were arrested after a stakeout in Manchester, police said.

MANCHESTER, CT — Two men with histories of drug activity were arrested after a stakeout in Manchester, police said. One was someone they weren't even looking for.

On Wednesday, officers with the East Central Narcotics Task Force, were staking out the area around Center Street in Manchester after receiving information that Kyshawn Teal was going to be in the vicinity, according to a report.

Four warrants had been issued for the 25-year-old Teal, police said.

As officers found Teal on Center Street and took him into custody after a brief foot pursuit, according to a report.

Teal had roughly 5 grams of crack cocaine on him when arrested, police said.

Teal was charged with:

  • Violation of probation,
  • Failure to appear (2 counts)
  • Interfering with police (2 counts)
  • Possession of narcotics
  • Possession with intent to sell
  • School related drug offenses

Also arrested was 42-year-old Darien Douglas, the driver of the vehicle Teal had arrived in, police said. Douglas is currently on parole for prior drug convictions.

Douglas was charged with:

  • Conspiracy to sell crack cocaine
  • Conspiracy to possess crack cocaine.

Douglas and Teal were in a rental vehicle which was subsequently returned to the company, according to police.
