Manchester Teens Arrested After Joyride Through Vernon

They crashed the stolen car on Windsor Avenue, police said.

VERNON, CT - Vernon Police arrested two 17-year-olds from Manchester after they took a joyride through town overnight Tuesday into early Wednesday morning with a couple of girls.

The boys were taken into custody after they crashed the car on Windsor Avenue at about 1:13 Wednesday morning, Vernon police spokesman Lt. William Meier said.

Meier said the two boys had been taking turns driving the car throughout the night. The vehicle crashed and struck a guardrail on Windsor Ave near the intersection of Union Street, he said.

The vehicle suffered heavy damage but there were no injuries, Meier said.

Two juvenile females were also in the car with the males. The girls were not charged and turned over to their respective guardians, Meier said.

The vehicle had been stolen from Manchester and boys were each issued a juvenile summons and released to guardians, Meier said.
