MANCHESTER, CT — A 48-year-old man is due in court on Jan. 2 to face a charge that he impersonated a police officer during a traffic incident last week, authorities said.

In addition to the impersonation charge, John Gorham, of Ansonia, was arrested last week and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor and breach of peace. He posted a $100,000 bond in the case, judicial system records show.

Gorham is accused of pulling up to another vehicle on Interstate-384 on Dec. 13, rolling down a window, and pointing a handgun at the other driver, who had a 2- and 5-year-old in his car, authorities said.
