Manchester Woman Facing Escape Charge After Tracking Device Violation
A woman who was on probation with a monitoring device is now facing a felony escape charge, state police said.

VERNON, CT — A Manchester woman is accused in a warrant of dismantling a probationary tracking device and is facing a felony charge as a result.
Sarah Wilbur was charged last week with first-degree escape, state police said. She failed to post a $30,000 at an arraignment last week and is scheduled to be back in Rockville Superior Court on June 27, records show.
On March 30, 2023 in Rockville Court, Wilbur was sentenced in to 18th months in jail, nine months consecutive with another case, both related to larceny out of Vernon, according to a warrant. On Oct. 2 of that year, she was released from the York Correctional Institution to Transitional Supervision, according to a warrant.

Eight days later, she committed a "strap violation," according to a warrant. Efforts by parole officials to located her by test messages, phone calls, and home visits were unsuccessful over the next week.
She was tracked down and detained by Hartford police on May 16, records show.
