Manchester's Tylon Smith Named NE-10 Co-Player of the Week
Smith is a senior on the SCSU men's basketball team.

Manchester’s Tylon Smith, a senior on the Southern Connecticut State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Spaulding Co-Player of the Week for his performances in the Owls’ two victories last week against So. New Hampshire and Bentley.
Smith averaged 19.5 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game and 3 assists per contest in last week’s matchups. He shot 53.5 percent (16-for-30) on the week, including 40 percent (2-for-5) from 3-point range. His 20-point performance at SNHU on Wednesday was his sixth 20+ point performance of the season. He shot 50 percent from the field on Saturday against Bentley, totaling 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Fellow SCSU senior Luke Houston (Pearl River, N.Y.) and sophomore Michael Mallory (of Waterbury) were also named to the Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll.
Mallory averaged 17.5 points per game, 6 rebounds per game and 1.5 steals per game in the Owls’ two victories last week, in addition to tying a career-high with four blocks against Bentley. He shot 48.2 percent (14-for-29) from the field and 38.4 percent (5-for-13) from 3-point range.

Houston shot 62.5 percent (5-for-8) from three-point range and 47.4 percent (9-for-19) overall on the week, averaging 17 points, five rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in a pair of Owls’ victories last week.
